The Creation of the Blog!

After creating the voice threads and creating the snapshots from the film of the presentation, I created the final blog. The final blog has three voice threads. There is one that shows the creation of the igenous rock. The second one shows the creation of the mediatoric rock and the third one shows the creation of the sedimentary rock. The two movie clips are taken from the overall film I recorded. I had about 45 minutes of filming. However, I ended up only using like 12 minutes of it. I chose to place just the filming of Mrs. Williams and the children explaining and dicussing the creation of the three different types of rocks. I have to upload the video to blogger because teacher tube kept saying that the video was in the wrong format. Then I created voice threads of the three parts of the presentation to create each type of rocks. After the creation of the blog, I sent Mrs. Williams the link to the blog and asked her to send me her comments in case I need to change anything.

Filming the the Rock Cycle Presentation!

I got to film the wonderful Mrs. Williams doing a presentation on the rock cycle at the CCMS. I was amazed on how much the students wanted to know as well as the students already knew. I even left the presentation learning a lot of new information. For example, I learned how all the rocks are created and how they change from different type to different types. I saw the presentation twice. The first time I took notes about the presentation. During the second presentation, I filmed it.

CCMS Tour!

I did not get to take a tour with the group. However, I got a glimse of the school when I was there to film Mrs. Dedire Williams as she gave presentation about the rock cycle. The school was very quiet and calm. The children were very well behaved. Another thing I noticed was how excited the children were about learning. I found out that the children have a week long sheet of work that they must complete before the week is over. Another thing I relaized even in the presentation is that all of the extra activities happen during the afternoon. I also relaized how advanced the children are in their overall learning.

This is my spread sheet.
This week was really interesting. I really enjoyed thinking about ways to use this in the classroom. This is a great way to keep all things organized from field trip money to grades in any classroom. The formulas also make the organization easy to because you can make graph if needed in a presentation. There are many project oppurnities from this program.
For example,you can ask
--How do you input the information into the computer?
--Then how do you take that information and make a chart or graph out of it?
--and What kind of formulas are needed to make the information easier to fill out?

This week was really fun. I learned a lot about different technologies that would help in my future classroom.I enjoyed the ability to place different information in a video and then be able to show it off. This would be really easy in different classrooms. For example, it can be used to simply the information on any certain subject. For example, you could have students do this as a book report, instead of the traditional hand written one. This was a interesting tool, to me for many reasons. For example, you can create fun and interesting slide shows on all different topics.

This was very interesting week. Movie Maker was very interesting. You could create many different types of presentations for it. It was fairly easy to use. You can have transitions for each slide. You can also have the text come in a different times and at different speeds. There was also a variety of colors and different fonts you can use for the text. The big issue was me not putting to many different effects in my powerpoint. However, over all it was really fun and helpful tool.

Digital Storytelling: Part Two

The Digital Storytelling is a very exciting tool for teachers to use in the classroom. The online reading that we had to do was very helpful, and it explained everything very well. I learned that the presentations of Digital Storytelling can be three different types "1) personal narratives - stories that contain
accounts of significant incidents in one’s life; 2) historical documentaries – stories that examine dramatic events that help us understand the past, and 3) stories designed to inform or instruct the viewer on a particular concept or practice."
.
Digital Storytelling is a very interesting tool that can be used to create many different projects at almost any grade level. This can also be used for teachers to show different types of lessons to students.
For example, in my project:
The point of view--I believe that technology and its helpful and can be used for children at all grade levels
A Dramatic Question: This could be how exactally can technology be used to for all different grade levels
Emotional Content:this part i am still wondering about, but it could have something to do with how some schools have less then good working computers for children.
The Gift Of Your Voice:I could do a section of narration and explaining what i am video taping of the computers and explaining the need for technology in students classrooms.
The Power Of The Soundtrack: Music is very important, if it too distracting then it takes away from the presentation
Ecomony: This is where I can review who the students need different types of technology in the classroom to enhance the learning
Pacing: This is important so the presentation slides are not to fast or to slow
**the above qoute was taken from the class reading
